Scott D. Sampson, Ph.D, a noted speaker on sustainability and children and nature, and the host of PBS’s children’s series Dinosaur Train, will speak at the Earth Day Marin Festival on Saturday, April 21st, 2012. Appearing as “Dr. Scott the Paleontologist”, he is presently serving the as the primary scientific consultant and host of the PBS Kids hit show Dinosaur Train, produced by the Jim Henson Company. Sampson also fulfilled these roles for the four-part Discovery Channel’s series Dinosaur Planet.
In addition, he recently wrote Dinosaur Odyssey: Fossil Threads in the Web of Life. Sampson is currently writing another book. Its title: The Epic of Evolution, the grand saga of cosmos, life, and culture that extends from the Big Bang to the present day.

The Earth Day Marin Festival will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Marin Civic Center Lagoon Park in San Rafael. This is a free, family-friendly event including entertainment, speakers, food, hands-on activities and nonprofit, business, craft and government exhibitors.
