Fairfax Community Farmers' Market

Fairfax Community Farmers' Market Opening Day 

Fairfax Community Farmers Market will be opening for the 2014 season on April 30.  The farmers’ market is held at Bolinas Park in the unique setting among the redwoods, every Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm through Oct 3, 2014.  The farmers’ market is organized by Agricultural Community Events Farmers Markets, who run 6 other farmers’ markets in Marin and Sonoma County.  Fairfax Community Farmers’ Market is a wonderful family friendly event where you will find local agriculture and artisan food businesses creating a healthy community.  

You can expect to see your favorite farmers from 2013 season, including Laguna Farm from Sebastopol and Leisen Bridgeway Farm from Santa Rosa, both of which bring an assortment of heirloom vegetables from lettuce to leeks to carrots to squash.  Wonderful organic tomatoes and fruit from Balakian Farms.  Hidden Star will be arriving in June with sweet delicious cherries and ice cold apple juice.  Also returning to the farmer section, Happy Hens from Petaluma, bringing locally raised meats and eggs and Noeller Farms will bring their truly raw almonds, roasted almonds, walnuts and red walnuts along with their tomatoes and corn in the summer months.  Not to be forgotten J&J with wonderful variety of stone fruit, Rodriguez Farms with Organic strawberries, Rainbow Orchard with Blueberries and The Marin Farm from San Rafael with a wide array of plants for your garden or home.  


What’s for dinner you ask? Well, you have your choice from the food court, located under the redwoods.  Cafe Zambala with Himalayan Cuisine, Roli Roti Chicken will be there with their fresh rotisserie chickens,  Brittany Crepes offer a gluten free batter for their sweet and savory crepes.


Of course, there will be sweets from Delicieux and Fat Angel, two local Fairfax bakeries, known for their taste bud tantalizing treats.  You will also find wonderful international foods to take home from Sukhi’s Indian Gourmet Foods.  Other specialty foods include Physis Foods from Sebastopol will be bring market fresh soup bases made fresh by Jason Taylor in his mobile kitchen,  The Hummus Guy who makes hummus and pita chips, Tortillas de la Tierra with freshly made by hand tortillas, California olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Big Paw,  Green Girl Bakery with Gluten Free ice cream sandwiches, and Grass & Sprinkles Trading Company with Vegan baked goods.

The Fairfax Community Farmers Market is a great place to shop for crafts and meet local artists.  Sustainable Fairfax will also be participating with a table along with Fairfax Volunteer Boards.   


There will be live music every week.  On opening day, we will be have Jacob Green, a one man band with banjo, steel guitar, harmonica and he sings too.  There will also be Jubilee Jumps with their jumpy house and Pony rides by Victorian Fashion Stables.  The information booth will offer crafts for the kids and young at heart.
