Fairfax, San Anselmo 2017 Election: Results Of Town Council Races
Voters re-elected incumbents and welcomed newcomers to the councils in the towns of Fairfax and San Anselmo.

SAN ANSELMO-FAIRFAX, CA – Voters re-elected incumbents and welcomed newcomers to the councils in the towns of Fairfax and San Anselmo, according to unofficial results released Tuesday night by the Marin County Registrar of Voters.
Six candidates competed for three open seats on the Fairfax Town Council.
With all the precincts reporting, Bruce Ackerman, a member of the town's Planning Commission, came in first place with about 19.9 percent of the vote. Mayor John Reed and Councilwoman Barbara Coler followed close behind with about 19.7 percent and 18.7 percent of the vote, respectively.

Cindy Swift, a retired information technology manager, came in fourth place with about 15.3 percent. Deborah Benson, an accountant, received roughly 14.3 percent of the vote, while Charles Cornell, a network systems administrator, received about 11.7 percent.
In San Anselmo, five candidates competed for three open seats.

Brian Colbert, one of the challengers and an entrepreneur, came in first place with about 25.8 percent of the vote. Mayor Kay Coleman came in second with 24 percent of the vote, followed by Councilman John Wright with about 23.6 percent.
Steve Burdo, a member of the town's Parks and Recreation Commission, received nearly 21 percent of the vote, while writer Tom King received only 5 percent.
