Flood Control District to Host Open House in San Anselmo

Community opportunity to learn more about the Ross Valley Flood Protection & Watershed Program.

The following is a news release from the County of Marin:

The Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District will host a Ross Valley Flood Protection & Watershed Program Open House on Saturday, December 13, from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ross Valley Fire Station at 777 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo.

The event will include hands-on, family-friendly activities, updates on flood mitigation projects, and opportunities to speak with staff and community representatives.

The Town of San Anselmo, in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA), will unveil its High Water Mark Campaign with new signs posted throughout the downtown corridor indicating the height of historic floods. This campaign is part of FEMA’s “Know Your Line” initiative to develop community awareness of local flood risks. Attend the ceremony at 9:30 a.m. to hear from local and regional leaders and to learn about protecting your family in the event of a flood.

The Ross Valley Flood Protection & Watershed Open House is being held in conjunction with San Anselmo Recreation Department’s annual Breakfast with Santa at the Ross Valley Fire Department.
