Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Bay Area

The heat poses the greatest risk to at-risk and elderly populations, as well as people engaging in outdoor activities, officials said.

BAY AREA, CA – The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for early this week and midweek for portions of the Bay Area, warning the public that the threat of heat-related illnesses will increase Monday and especially Tuesday and Wednesday. The heat poses the greatest risk to at-risk and elderly populations, as well as people engaging in outdoor activities, weather officials said.

Officials urged the public not to leave people or pets in parked vehicles for any reason, for any length of time. Officials also noted that increased fire weather concerns are likely as a result of hot and dry conditions.

Temperatures in the North Bay will range from the 90s to the low 100s in interior valleys and the 60s to the low 70s at the coast, weather officials said.
