Neil and two other motorcyclists were riding west through curves on Lucas Valley Road west of Westgate Drive in unincorporated Marin County around 12:15 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The two lead motorcyclists pulled away from Neil who then drove into the eastbound lane on a right curve and collided with an eastbound 2013 International dump truck registered to the County of Marin, Barclay said.

Neither vehicle could stop in time to avoid the collision, and Neil’s motorcycle collided head-on with the dump truck, Barclay said. Neil died at the scene, Barclay said.

Neil was most recently employed as a cinematic artist with Telltale Games, a San Rafael independent publisher and developer of video games, according to his LinkedIn page. He previously worked as a freelance animator and illustrator for the Bay Area Film Company of Berkeley.
