Man Who Shot Himself During Standoff Identified

Officers responded over the weekend to a report of shots fired at a home in San Anselmo.

SAN ANSELMO, CA – The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified a man who was found dead from a gunshot wound after a standoff in San Anselmo on Saturday as Sean Taylor Pergerson, 47, of Sausalito.

Chief Deputy Coroner Roger Fielding said Pergerson's death is considered a suicide pending further investigation.

Central Marin Police Authority officers responded late Saturday morning to a report of shots fired at a residence in the first block of Grove Hill Avenue. Police issued a shelter in place order to occupants of 15 nearby residences about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, and lifted it about 5:30 p.m..

A person who knew Pergerson fled the residence safely. Police found Pergerson dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 5:30 p.m. about five hours after gunshots were first reported coming from the house.
