The fire ignited as the Bay Area kicked off a three-day run of unseasonable warmth, with a heat advisory now extended through Saturday. Temperatures were forecast to range from the 80s to high-90s for most of the region, with limited overnight relief, and forecasters warned fire concerns would remain elevated through the weekend.

"There is a growing risk for fire weather concerns Saturday as the warm dry week has created low humidities and helped dry fuels across much of the area," NWS Bay Area wrote Friday. "The good news is that the winds still look to be light through the driest period."
Temps should cool by a few degrees Sunday before a more noticeable change arrives in the form of a cold front expected Monday. The forecast favors much cooler temperatures and even a little rain for the North Bay early next week.
