Paintings of M. Kathryn Thompson Showcased at Lincoln Park Wine Bar

Meet the Artist at a special August 27th reception from 5-7pm.

San Anselmo, CA. August 24, 2014-The San Anselmo Arts Commission is proud to sponsor the paintings of M. Kathryn Thompson at Lincoln Park Wine Bar. The show will continue through till the 30th of September. A “meet the artist” reception will take place on August 27th from 5pm till 7pm with 10% of the nights proceeds being donated to the San Anselmo Arts Commission.

M. Kathryn Thompson lives in Northern California where she finds inspiration for her work from local nature and wildlife in the small town of Fairfax. She spent her twenties in Seattle where she graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle and has been an illustrator for 28 years.

Thompson comments on her approach to painting. “Working in Scratchboard is a joy to me because I work in reverse, scratching away the black ink to reveal the white underneath. On top of that I airbrush transparent acrylic ink. Often, I paint right on the original so I can scratch away further highlights in the color and other times I print the black and white image onto watercolor paper and airbrush on that.”
