📰 News we're reading

• Police Link Juveniles to Antisemitic Graffiti at Marin County Elementary School (sfist.com) — Police have identified two juveniles as likely responsible for antisemitic graffiti discovered last weekend on the asphalt at Brookside Elementary School in San Anselmo. Central Marin officers documented the hate‑motivated vandalism, the school quickly cleaned it before classes resumed, and the case is now being referred to the Marin County District Attorney while the community rallies around students.

• San Anselmo store seeks cigar exemption in tobacco rules (marinij.com) — San Anselmo's Town Council will soon decide whether to expand its tobacco retail ban in a way that could end cigar sales at longtime local shop Ludwig's Fine Wine. The Nazari family is urging residents to contact councilmembers before the Oct. 13 meeting, arguing their adult‑only cigar business is being unfairly swept into broader anti‑nicotine rules that many Marin towns have already adopted.
