With summer in full swing and stone fruit at its peak ripeness, it's time to make PIE for your family and friends! The babes (Lenore and Anna) from Three Babes Bakeshop will be teaching pie essentials at the Marin Country Mart Farmers' Market on Saturday, July 27. They'll show you the pie ropes by demonstrating how to make a classic peach lattice pie with organic, tree ripened peaches from Frog Hollow Farms. Specifically, you will learn how to make and roll out the flakiest pie crust, select the best fruit for your filling, weave a lattice over the top of your pie, flute the edge of the crust, and perfectly cream and sugar your pie. Afterwards, there will be a tasting, so you can sample the deliciousness of the instruction! The demonstration will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. beneath the big farmers' market tent. Three Babes Bakeshop is a sustainably focused pie business, committed to promoting social and economic justice, and uses only organically grown ingredients.
