RoCo Dance & Fitness, the Award Winning contemporary dance training center for children and adults, is proud to present RoCo Dance Onstage, Saturday & Sunday January 21 and 22, 2012.
RoCo Dance OnStage is celebrating it’s 21st Birthday with a performance theme of dance styles and music spanning 100 years, entitled “Decades”. Ballets set to Cole Porter, Gershwin, Bobby McFerrin and Prince. Modern dances to Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Lee Lewis, Temptations and Pink Floyd. Hip Hop and Breaking dances set to LL Cool Jay, C& C Music Factory and James Brown.
Nearly 600 dancers from RoCo’s youth and teen programs will be performing choreography created by award winning Bay Area artists and RoCo faculty. Some of the 20 professional dance artists include RoCo’s director Annie Rosenthal Parr, San Francisco Hip Hop Dance Fest director, Micaya, San Francisco’s Miles Kenedi, Christine Cali, Melinda Neal, Santa Rosa’s Gabrielle Thompson and Joe Gray and Oakland’s Pei-Ling Kao, Jennifer Meek and Kristin Damrow.
