San Anselmo Arts Commission to Sponsor Free Music in the Park Concert Series Throughout the month of August
August is fast approaching! Check out the great line-up for bands for the 2015 Music in the Park series!

The San Anselmo Arts Commission is excited to announce the line-up for the 2015 Music in the Park free concert series, which takes place in Creek Park on all five Sundays in August from 3pm to 6pm. This year’s series starts on August 2nd with “Royal Jelly Jive” and will run through August 30th closing with “West Grand Boulevard”. The Line-up is as follows:

August 2nd: Royal Jelly Jive
An intoxicating mixed drink of hard swinging soul-jive, Royal Jelly Jive dives deep head-first into the old school throwback sounds of the 1940’s with a groovy new twist. Rapturous horns, sleek bass, elegant keys and swingin’ cymbals are just some of the sweet tastes you may devour if you are lucky enough to catch them.

August 9th: Revolver
60’s, baby, only 60’s! And not just the hits, either. You’ll be saying, “Wow - what a great tune! I’ve never heard anybody play that before!”
August 16th: Todos Santos
Todos Santos is Wendy Fitz, Gary Bauman, and Jack Pribble; an acoustic trio created in the small village in Baja California that inspired the name. The band’s sound has been described as “Cantina Americana”, a harmony driven mixture of soaring vocals, fiery guitars, and accordion. The music is roots to the core and includes not only originals but also many unique covers.
August 23rd: Lorin Rowan Progressive Americana
“Progessive Americana” featuring guitarist/singer-songwriter Lorin Rowan (Rowan Brothers,Rowan Cunningham Band,The Edge aka San Francisco Music Club,) with his finger pickin’ acoustic roots in folk/rock, as well as his melodic electric guitar/world music fusion, complementing his clear tenor vocal, backed by fellow musicians who have played or play with a wide variety of first class musicians; Phil Lesh & Friends, David Nelson Band; Todd Rundgren,Taj Mahal, Clarence Clemmons (Bruce Springsteen band) and Bonnie Raitt, to name a few.
The combination of these musicians and their unique cutting-edge instrumentation highlight their ‘outside-the-box’ improvisations as they interweave together, creating a fresh, exciting sound with powerful melodies, intriguing lyrics, and dazzling instrumental interludes.
August 30th: West Grand Boulevard
West Grand Boulevard specializes in classic Motown, R&B, and Soul hits. Formed in early 2003, the band has performed for thousands of people at countless weddings, private parties, events, festivals, fundraisers, and clubs. Performing the popular music of influential artists like Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Michael Jackson and more, West Grand Boulevard is a great way to get a crowd of any age or size up onto the dance floor.
All Music in the Park Sunday concerts are free to the public and begin at 3pm and end at 6pm. Creek Park is located at the “Hub” in San Anselmo. Bring your family, a picnic and blanket and enjoy an afternoon of music in the park.
