​San Anselmo Man Found Shot To Death In San Rafael

SAN ANSELMO, CA – A man found dead in a vehicle Monday evening in San Rafael has been identified as Errol Matthew Friedman, 21, of San Anselmo, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

The San Rafael Police Department received reports of a possible shooting at Pickleweed Park on Canal Street around 6 p.m. Monday, police Sgt. Lisa Holton said. Responding officers found a man, later identified as Friedman, dead of a gunshot wound inside a vehicle.

Witnesses said they saw a man running from the scene after the shooting, Holton said.

A forensic post-mortem exam and toxicology testing were scheduled for Wednesday, sheriff's officials said.
