San Rafael PD Arrests Man on Herion, Marijuana Charges

Police received a tip about a person who was possibly selling the drugs out of an apartment.

San Rafael police arrested a city resident Wednesday morning on suspicion of possessing heroin and marijuana with intent to distribute, a police lieutenant said.

Police received a tip about a person who was possibly selling the drugs out of an apartment on Lincoln Avenue, Lt. Dan Fink said.

Police served a search warrant early Wednesday morning and seized more than five pounds of marijuana and 37 grams of heroin, Fink said.

Officers also seized cash, a scale, packaging material and other evidence of narcotics sales, Fink said.

The street value of the marijuana is $4,000 and the heroin is approximately $1,500, Fink said. Police arrested Stephen Weiss, 65, on suspicion of the drug offenses and he was booked into Marin County Jail.
