The burglars forced entry into the homes and took more than $20,000 worth of construction tools, Fink said.
Most of the burglaries occurred between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., but since daylight savings time ends on Nov. 2, the burglars are likely to start earlier in the evenings, Fink said.

No suspects or suspicious vehicles were seen at any of the burglaries. Police are asking residents to report suspicious vehicles or persons in their neighborhoods, especially if there is a home under construction in the area, Fink said. Residents should call 911 if a crime is in progress and (415) 485-3000 if it is not an emergency. Police are providing extra patrols in areas where homes are being built and have assigned a detective specifically to the investigation into the burglaries, Fink said.
