The California Highway Patrol arrested a San Rafael woman Thursday on suspicion of an alleged DUI-related hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.

Isadora Fisher, 27, was driving a 2013 Honda Fit east on North San Pedro Road in unincorporated Marin County near San Rafael around 9:45 a.m., CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Fisher didn’t notice pedestrians crossing in the marked crosswalk ahead of her when she started turning left on Birch Way, and she couldn’t stop before she struck Vasiti Ilolahia, 53, of Larkspur, Barclay said.

Ilolahia rolled onto Fisher’s car before she was thrown to the ground. Witnesses said Fisher tried to drive away but they prevented her from leaving, Barclay said.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and San Rafael police also responded to the collision, Barclay said. CHP officers evaluated Fisher and she was arrested and booked into the Marin County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and hit-and-run causing injury, Barclay said.

Barclay said the CHP also recommended a penalty enhancement be applied if Fisher is convicted that the DUI was her second DUI offense within 10 years of a prior conviction.

Ilolahia was treated by paramedics and released from the scene, Barclay said.
