Three suspected burglars who fled sheriff’s deputies in Marin County on Tuesday afternoon were arrested after the pursuit, but a fourth remains at large, sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.
Deputies responded to reports of breaking glass in the backyard of a vacant home on South Knoll Road in the unincorporated community of Strawberry just after 4 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

The 911 caller told dispatchers there was a gold Audi parked in front of the home. As deputies arrived, they saw the Audi driving towards them and had to swerve to avoid a head-on crash, sheriff’s officials said.
The Audi hit the driver’s side of the patrol car as it drove away.

The Audi sped away. A Tiburon police officer who was nearby saw the Audi approaching him and drive over the raised center island of the road, sheriff’s officials said. The Tiburon officers pursued the Audi onto Tiburon
Boulevard and then northbound U.S. Highway 101.
The Audi weaved on the highway unsafely, hitting several other vehicles, before trying to drive around stopped traffic and colliding with a storm drain. The right front wheel was ripped from the car, according to the
sheriff’s office.
Four suspects fled from the crashed car and into the surrounding neighborhood, but three were found and arrested after a search. One remains at large.
The three suspects were identified as Rashad Preston, 23, of San Francisco; Eric Phillips, 34, of Oakland; and Maurice Allen, 31, of Oakland. All three were on probation or parole, according to the sheriff’s office.
They were booked into jail on suspicion of resisting arrest, evading a police officer and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
Allen remains in jail on a no-bail parole hold. Preston and Phillips are held on $250,000 bail, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to call the Marin County Sheriff’s Office at (415) 473-7233.
