Sustainable Fairfax Film and Speaker Series: Blue Gold Water Wars

This Friday, March 20, learn about the environmental and political implications of our dwindling water supply - and what to do about it

This Friday, Sustainable Fairfax is showing the award winning film “Blue Gold: World Water Wars” at the Fairfax Women’s Club, 46 Park Road, at 7:30pm. This film addresses global water issues, and could not be more timely as California braces for its fourth year of drought. The film documents why we are losing our fresh water supply, the possible consequences, and the politics of water ownership and distribution. It also offers solutions and inspires activism and conservation.

After the film, we will introduce Mai-Lan Ha of the Pacific Institute, an award winning non-profit research institute that provides independent research and policy analysis, with a particular focus on global and regional fresh water issues. Ms. Ha is a Senior Research Associate for the organization’s Corporate Sustainability program, and will discuss corporate water stewardship, business and the human rights to water, and innovative actions taking off in California.

The film is part of the Sustainable Fairfax Environmental Film & Speaker Series in collaboration with Fairfax Parks and Recreation and Fairfax Volunteers. The event is also part of the Sustainable Fairfax Water Conservation Program, sponsored by the New Belgium Brewing Company.
