Swift Widens Lead Over Hellman For Fairfax Town Council Seat
Cindy Swift has increased her lead over Stephanie Hellman for the second seat on the Fairfax Town Council.

FAIRFAX, CA — Cindy Swift has increased her lead over Stephanie Hellman for the second seat on the Fairfax Town Council as of the latest results released by Marin County. Swift was in the lead by 34 votes.
As of late Wednesday, Swift, 66, a retired program manager, has 859 votes and Hellman, 48, a nonprofit coordinator, has 825 votes. Incumbent Renee Goddard, a sustainability educator, appears to have retained her council seat with 1,053 votes.
The Marin County Registrar of Voters Offices is updating the election results by 5 p.m on Wednesdays and Fridays.

On Tuesday, Fairfax voters also approved Measure F, an 11-year extension of a tax for police and fire services, according to complete unofficial results.
The tax will raise approximately $711,000 to $912,000 annually.

The money will keep the police station open 24/7, maintain and enhance fire services and wildfire prevention efforts, fund public works/safety projects, and maintain senior and youth programs.
The measure needed two-thirds approval and received 79 percent.
