Thanks to input from the County of Marin, the Marin Housing Authority, and our local nonprofit partners, every month Opening Doors will be sending out regular updates on our push to end chronic, veteran, and family homelessness. Here is the latest as of October 31, 2021:

Chronic Homelessness
- Since October 1, 2017, we have housed 416 people who were experiencing chronic homelessness
- 93.73% are still housed
- In October of 2021, we housed 16 more people
Veteran Homelessness

- Since October 1, 2017, we have housed 54 homeless veterans
- In October of 2021, 4 more veterans moved into housing
- We now estimate there are approximately 27 homeless veterans remaining in Marin
Family Homelessness
- Since June of 2020, we have housed 84 homeless families
- In October of 2021, we housed 13 more families
- We now estimate that there are approximately 35 unsheltered and 23 sheltered homeless families in Marin
In an effort to provide ongoing access to this data at any time during the month, the County of Marin’s Health and Human Services Department has launched a data dashboard, which will mirror and build on the updates in these messages. Our goal is to add even more data and outcome measures over the coming months.
