Toxicology Results Out in Robin Williams' Death
The Marin County Sheriff's Office released its final report in the death of the actor on Friday.

Marin County coroner’s officials have completed their investigation into the death of actor Robin Williams.
Williams, who was found hanged in his Bay Area home near Tiburon, was discovered unconscious and not breathing on Aug. 11. He was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m.
On Friday, nearly three months since the news of Williams’ death shook the nation and reignited discussions of mental illness and depression, coroner’s office made public the results of their investigation.

Williams’ official cause of death was listed as “asphyxia due to hanging,” and the manner of death was ruled suicide.
“Toxicological evaluation revealed the absence of alcohol or illicit drug,” the Marin County coroner’s report reads. “Prescription medications were detected in therapeutic concentrations.”
