Water Main Breaks in San Anselmo

The break in the cast iron pipe was reported around 3 p.m. on Tunstead Avenue.

Crews from the Marin Municipal Water District were repairing a break in an 8-inch water main in San Anselmo Wednesday afternoon, a district spokeswoman said.

The break in the cast iron pipe was reported around 3 p.m. on Tunstead Avenue and 20 customers were affected, MMWD spokeswoman Libby Pischel said.

Pischel said she did not immediately know the cause of the break and when the repairs will be complete.

The main break led to the temporary closure of Tunsted Avenue.

The eastbound lane of San Anselmo Avenue also was closed but has since reopened, Central Marin Police Authority officials said.
