Public Comment on the 2020 Census Citizenship Question

The County’s Office of Community Affairs has been busy canvassing San Mateo County for the Local Updating Census Address (LUCA) review process in preparation for the U.S. Census Survey 2020.

A big part of their work includes ensuring that every San Mateo County resident receives a Census survey in April 2020 and that members of the public have the opportunity to comment on the 2020 Census citizenship question.

For the first time since 1950, the U.S. Census Bureau is planning to ask everyone living in the United States whether they are citizens when it conducts its next decennial census in 2020.
