The San Bruno Police Department is pleased to announce that it has made it easier for individuals to complete internet exchange purchases at any time of day. While the lobby of the police station has always been a safe and convenient place to complete these transactions, individuals can now meet to finalize purchases at an Internet Exchange Zone located in front of the San Bruno Police Station located at 1177 Huntington Avenue.
The popularity of online purchases has increased in recent years. This popularity has increased the vulnerability of those participating in these types of transactions. Individuals are meeting in public and private locations to exchange money and goods and, although rare, fraud and incidents of theft have occurred during these exchanges.
In an attempt to combat these types of crimes, the San Bruno Police Department has set up an Internet Exchange Zone just outside of our police station’s front doors to create a level of security during these exchanges. The area is designated by a sign, and the immediate area is monitored, and recorded by video cameras. There is an emergency button available at this location to immediately contact a Police Dispatcher when necessary. We encourage those seeking to make these transactions to take advantage of this new Internet Exchange Zone.
