The City of San Bruno CA has been working with FEMA for over a year as FEMA was considering releasing their Flood Zone Map that will include portions of SSF and San Bruno CA.

After the cities saw the proposed Flood Zone Map they hired a consultant who did his own evaluation of possible conditions. The consultant concluded that flooding would affect many less SSF and San Bruno residents.

As you can read in the letter below from U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier

FEMA changed the parameters to be included in the study and did not agree to sit down with SSF and San Bruno officials to together discuss the consultant's findings.

FEMA replied to Congresswoman Speier's letter as follows:

The City of San Bruno has scheduled the following community meeting for August 27th 2018 to allow FEMA to explain to the potentially affected San Bruno residents how the program will work:

Hopefully FEMA will

(1) agree to meet with officials with SSF and San Bruno

(2) bring a better map showing the areas in Belle Air that will flood

(3) explain what the City of South San Francisco, the City of San Bruno, the County of San Mateo, and the San Francisco International Airport should do to allow FEMA to withdraw their Flood Zone Map.

Please share this information with Belle Air residents as this August 27th meeting is IMPORTANT.
