On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 1:19 P.M., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the report of a fight in the area of Huntington Avenue and Herman Avenue, in San Bruno. A vehicle occupied by two subjects was reported to have fled the scene of the altercation. The occupants of this vehicle were reported to have been armed with a handgun.

Officers located the vehicle in question a short distance away. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, one of its passengers fled on foot into a residential area. Following a thorough search, this subject was located in the rear yard of a nearby residence and taken into custody, without incident.

As the subject fled on foot, he discarded a loaded firearm. This weapon was recovered by investigating officers. Both the subject who fled on foot, and the driver of the vehicle, were arrested and later booked into the San Mateo County Jail for charges related to the possession of a loaded firearm. Officers were unable to locate the other person(s) involved in the original altercation.

The two suspects are identified as:

  • Eighteen year old South San Francisco resident Joshua Gomez
  • Twenty year old Oakland resident Otilio Tapia
