BART General Manager Proposes Safety and Security Action Plan

BART General Manager Grace Crunican is seeking authority from the Board of Directors to move forward implementing a comprehensive Safety and Security Action Plan. The series of proposals will boost the visible presence of police and employees in the system, enhance BART’s already robust network of surveillance cameras, increase public safety outreach, and more. The Action Plan will go before the BART Board of Directors at Thursday’s Board meeting.

The plan includes police emergency staffing, increased efforts to prevent fare evasion, use of enhanced technology to improve safety, and more. Read about the proposed plan here.
