On Friday, June 8, 2018, at approximately 2:12 a.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the area of Santa Lucia Avenue and Elm Avenue in San Bruno regarding the report of a carjacking that had just occurred. The victim reported that the suspect had brandished a weapon and ordered the victim out of the vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle a short time later as it merged onto southbound Interstate 101. Officers initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and it failed to yield. Officers pursued the vehicle on southbound Interstate 101 until it exited onto Poplar Avenue in San Mateo. The vehicle collided with two parked vehicles as it exited the freeway. The driver was arrested at the scene without incident. The juvenile suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered as a result of the collision. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
