Some will have to drive 5 miles further to make their donations.

Thank you for your previous donation with us. What you are doing is simply amazing and we look forward to seeing you again. In the meantime, I’m happy to share with you some exciting changes in the coming months for Blood Centers of the Pacific.

As you know Blood Centers of the Pacific is part of a national organization with more than 125 blood donation centers in 22 states. These blood centers have different names; in Memphis, we are Lifeblood, in Sacramento, we are BloodSource, in Phoenix, we are United Blood Services. By the end of September, we will all share the same name!

We will still have the same community-based staff that you are friends with and have come to trust. We will continue to operate as a nonprofit organization – staying true to our mission and goals. Most of our employees don’t even know the name of the new organization, so we are all excited to find out together.
We also have exciting news specifically to the Bay Area. We will be relocating our Peninsula donation center from Millbrae to San Mateo. This will take place from mid-October to early November. While we will be sad to leave that center behind, the building simply cannot meet our needs. We will be moving to a new, modern, bright, and comfortable location just five miles away. We will keep you updated on this as it nears.
There are many great changes ahead, but one thing doesn't change - your ability to do something wondrous and amazing every time you donate blood.

As always, Thank You! We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Mondays are a high request day for platelets. Hospitals need platelets to help manage bleeding and are important for patients in cancer treatment, with blood diseases, or receiving transplants. Donate platelets on Mondays and you will receive special rewards. Become a Monday platelet donor. For more information call 800-707-8483.

Make it a Double. Red blood cells are the most frequently used blood component. One way you can help maintain a healthy blood supply is by giving a double red cell donation. Donors who donate just their red blood cells can double the amount of red blood cells given at one time. A double red cell donation is especially good for those who cannot donate as often since there is a 16 week waiting period between donations.

Free health check-up. One of the benefits of donating blood is that you also receive a mini-physical. We check your pulse, blood pressure, temperature, hemoglobin levels and even your cholesterol. You can look at your health history online in your HERO Rewards account. Do it now.
