CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: Chair Gamble called the meeting of the Culture and Arts Commission to order at 6:32 pm. Commissioners Present: Chair Gamble, Vice Chair Pamela Madden, Jeanne George, Janet Monaghan, Judith Puccini, and Melodie Tobin. Commissioners Excused: Commissioner Bardi Rosman Koodrin. Staff Present: Tim Wallace.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Gamble led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. REVIEW OF AGENDA: No changes.
4. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: MSC Tobin/Madden. Accepted unanimously.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR: None.
6. PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a. Traffic Signal Controller Boxes Art Project - Issue new RFP for remaining two boxes with theme as a suggestion rather than a requirement. MSC Tobin/Madden. Unanimously.
b. Movies in the Park Community Voting and Commission Selection of 2018 Movies -
1. Black Panther
2. Paddington 2
3. Jumangi - Welcome to the Jungle
4. Coco
MSC Tobin/Madden. Unanimously.
c. Proposal to Display Art in Storefronts on San Mateo Avenue - No action taken.


NEW BUSINESS: None


ITEMS FROM COMMISSION MEMBER: Commissioner Puccini stated that the Capuchino art program will need temporary space. Individual commissioners provided suggestions. Commissioner Puccini stated that Capuchino art program is in need of supplies.


10. ITEMS FROM STAFF: Superintendent Wallace provided commissioners the results of Community Art Gallery program submissions. Superintendent Wallace stated that the City is discussing a revamp of the Sister City Plaza which may include a commissioned art piece and suggested that commissioners think about what kind of art piece they would to see for the space.
11. ADJOURNMENT: With no other business to be conducted, Chair Gamble adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.

SUBJECT: Marketing Plan for Movies-in-the-Park
BACKGROUND:

Each year the Commission sponsors Movies-in-the-Park, whereby a film is shown in City Park
on Friday evenings in September immediately after Concerts-in-the-Park concludes. This
year's films will be Black Panther on September 7, Paddington 2 on September 14, Jumangi -
Welcome to the Jungle on September 21, and Coco on September 28.
DISCUSSION.-

To ensure that the community is aware of Movies-in-the-Park the Commission will development
a marketing plan.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
