Do you smoke?
If so, which pocket ashtray (see examples here: http://bit.ly/2uOeVRk) would you be more likely to use & stash in your pocket or purse? Pocket ashtrays are a great way for smokers to stash their cigarette butts when a receptacle isn't nearby.
Take the poll and tell us!
Your answers will help the County's Environmental Health Services team pick the best tool to help smokers on the persistent problem of cigarette butt litter. The County’s Environmental Health Services team is committed to reducing cigarette butt litter in San Mateo County. When butts are littered onto streets and sidewalks, they are easily washed, blown, or flicked down storm drains that lead straight into local creeks, the Bay, and the Pacific Ocean without any treatment. In addition to being unsightly, cigarette butts never disappear because they are made of plastic and do not biodegrade. They are toxic to marine and freshwater fish. Here’s how else you can help: ·
