Donations By Nov 20th Up To 1 Million Will Be Doubled

For you and me, Thanksgiving is likely a time for celebration, family traditions, and an overabundance of food. But for a growing number of families in Silicon Valley, it's a day filled with disappointment because they've worked hard and there still won't be enough to eat.

An estimated 450,000 people in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties are at risk of being hungry and not getting help. For these people, the inability to stretch their dollars despite working one or two jobs has become a new way of life.

To help reach those who are still in need, an anonymous foundation issued our largest challenge to date: If we raise $1 million by November 20, your gift will be doubled just in time for Thanksgiving.

I have worked in food-banking for almost 20 years and have seen its unique ability to alleviate hunger across an entire community. Your support makes a tremendous difference for families when they need it most.
