Depending on the location of gas venting and weather patterns, there may be a smell of natural gas. The pipeline is cleared of gas utilizing a safe and common technique. PG&E is taking steps to mitigate noise and odor and has scheduled the work to create the least impact possible, however it is likely that the work will result in some noise and odor.
PG&E encourages anyone who has questions or concerns about the smell of gas to call PG&E 24 hours a day at 1-800-PGE (743) 5000 or call 911 immediately.
