SAN BRUNO PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES VACANCY ON ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

San Bruno Park School District Trustee and Board Vice President Patrick Flynn announced his resignation at the Board of Trustees meeting September 13, 2017 effective at the end of the day. Trustee Flynn has served as a member of the Board since his appointment May 28, 2013 to fill a vacancy on the Board at that time. His term was due to expire in December 2018 at which time the seat will be up for election. The Board will determine a process for filling the vacancy at its meeting on September 27, 2017. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity and having a child attend school in the District is not a requirement.
Dr. Henry Sanchez, President of the Board, offered the following statement regarding Trustee Flynn: “I know that I speak for the Board when I express deep appreciation for Trustee Flynn’s service. Serving on the Board represents a significant commitment not only of time, but of conscience - to make decisions that are in the best interest of seven schools and the students they serve. Trustee Flynn fulfilled his duties admirably, always thoughtful to process, deliberation, collaboration, and independent thinking – qualities that are essential to being a good board member. Notably, Trustee Flynn was stalwart in his resilience to stay the course on tough decisions. His dedication is deeply appreciated and he will be missed.”

Superintendent Dr. Stella Kemp, who recently joined the District commented, “Those who seek out service on school boards inherit rewarding but also difficult challenges that require sacrifice. We wish Trustee Flynn all the best as he enjoys more time with family, confident in knowing that he gave his best focused on doing that which was right for the students we serve.”
