While the tragic events in the North Bay are extremely rare it serves as a reminder to all of us to make sure we are prepared for all of the potential disasters we face here in San Bruno. Part of preparedness involves having an emergency plan. Please visit the following link for tips on creating that plan https://www.ready.gov/make-a-plan . It is also important to stay up to date on emergency notifications from public officials. Please visit http://hsd.smcsheriff.com/smcalert and sign up for emergency notifications today! Please see the provided preparedness information for wildfires, earthquakes, and home fires.
Please remember to join us at our open house on October 21st from 11 am until 2 pm where we will be able to answer all of your questions regarding fire safety and emergency preparedness. For those that are wondering we did send both police and fire personnel to the North Bay as part of mutual aid agreements. This response doesn’t impact our normal staffing levels in San Bruno. I am happy to report that although, tired, dirty and saddened by the destruction they have witnessed they are energized about the impact their efforts have had on residents affected by this fire.
