On Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1:21 p.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 600 block of 1st Avenue regarding the report of an interrupted residential burglary. As a result of a subsequent investigation and search of the area, officers contacted twenty-seven year old Hayward resident Alfredo Alvarez. Alvarez was identified as the subject who had committed this crime and was arrested accordingly. Once placed in handcuffs, Alvarez attempted to run away from officers, but was unsuccessful. He was booked into the San Mateo County Main Jail for charges related to burglary and attempted escape.
