On Thursday, December 24, 2015, at approximately 11:26 a.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 2700 block of Cottonwood Drive regarding a report of a residential burglary in progress. Officers quickly responded and established a perimeter around the residence in question. Shortly following the arrival of officers, a
suspect exited the residence via a window and fled on foot. The suspect was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
The suspect in this case is identified as Lavonte Shaw, a twenty-one year old resident of San Francisco. Shaw was found to be on probation out of San Francisco for attempted burglary at the time this crime was committed.
The San Bruno Police Department encourages all residents to remain vigilant, and immediately report suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhoods. Most residential burglars select a target where they believe no one is home. Alert neighbors provide the biggest help to police in solving these crimes. Please immediately report any suspicious activity to the Police Department by calling 9-1-1.
