San Bruno CalTrain Electrification Update

Do you need to adjust your schedule

Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project

The Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project (PCEP) is a key component of the Caltrain Modernization program. The PCEP would electrify the Caltrain Corridor from San Francisco's 4th and King Caltrain Station to approximately the Tamien Caltrain Station.

The primary purpose of the Project is to improve Caltrain system performance, reduce long-term environmental impact by reducing noise, improving regional air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. An electrified Caltrain system would better address Peninsula commuters' vision of increased service and improved travel times in an environmentally friendly and reliable way. This also is expected to help accommodate increase system ridership through improved system operations.

San Bruno
November 18 through November 22, Caltrain will be doing work during the day and night to relocate signal cables and to install OCS foundation. Foundation work activities will include excavation, drilling, placement of foundations and pouring of concrete. Day work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Night work hours for November 18 will be from 7:45 p.m. to 7:45 a.m.and night work hours for November 19 through November 20 will be from 7:45 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. During construction motorists and pedestrians may experience intermittent delays while crews move equipment through at-grade crossings. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and the field team will work as quietly as possible.

During night work hours at the San Bruno station all passengers will board and de-board from the same platforms. Please look for the signs to indicate which platform to use. If you have any questions, feel free to call the project hotline at 650-399-9659 or toll-free at 855-463-4373.
