San Bruno Police Nab Suspected Drug Dealer in Traffic Stop

Police say they were conducting a traffic violation stop when they saw the suspect throw suspicious packages out his window.

A Redwood City man has been arrested in San Bruno after police said a traffic stop led officers to the discovery of methamphetamine, police say.

Joseph Gipson, 42, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of evading a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale, transporting a controlled substance and possession of an illegal expandable baton.

Officers at 10:58 p.m. conducted a traffic violation stop on a pickup truck in the 1700 block of El Camino Real. Police said the Gipson initially failed to yield, and officers saw him throw two suspicious packages out the window before he pulled the truck over.
