San Bruno Robber Knocks Man Down With Tire Iron: Cops

The robbery victim told police a man approached him and hit him with a tire iron before taking his cell phone and jacket.

SAN BRUNO, CA- Police on Sunday arrested a man who allegedly struck his victim with a tire iron and then robbed him, police said.

Officers responded shortly before 11 a.m. to a report of an armed robbery in the 600 block of First Avenue, according to police.

The robbery victim told police a man had approached him and hit him with a tire iron before taking his cell phone and jacket.

Police were able to track down the suspect, identified as 33-year-old San Bruno resident Darnell Ene. Ene was booked in San Mateo County jail on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
