On July 19, San Mateo County Parks Foundation is back with Coyote Nights at Coyote Point- our summer evening social where howling at the moon is totally okay ;-) !

We return with our partners, REI Co-op and Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company, to bring you a cool way to wind down after work. REI will set up their outdoor lounge and trail mix bar. Devil’s Canyon will bring their tasty brews, and San Mateo County Parks Foundation will have ‘trailheads’ of activities and information based on the theme of the evening.

This event is also free for children and youth under 18.

Support your local parks by hanging out with the Parks Foundation and sipping root beer while toasting s'mores at Coyote Nights at Coyote Point!

Then, on Sunday, September 9, Join San Mateo County Parks Foundation for our 20th anniversary celebration at Huddart Park. We'll toast those who launched the Foundation, celebrate 20 years of success, and chart a course for the future! Tickets go on sale soon.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. Help us put on an enjoyable event and feel good knowing that event proceeds support a variety of park projects and programs such as youth environmental education field trips, Bicycle Sunday and re-introduction of the Bay checkerspot butterfly to Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve.


Kick up your heels at the Big Bad Barn Dance and BBQ hosted by the Friends of Huddart & Wunderlich Parks at the historic Folger Stable on Sunday, August 26.


The barn dance will feature local musicians, a live dance caller, catered BBQ, local and craft beer, and wine in a beautiful and historic setting.

Volunteers Needed!

YerbaBio habitat restoration at Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve

Edgewood Park is renowned for its fabulous wildflower displays and exists specifically to protect native biodiversity, including over 300 plants species, some rare and found nowhere else in the world! Yerba Bioadvocacy works to protect and restore this biological gem, hosting restoration sessions at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday/Friday evening now through October. All volunteers are welcome. Youth must be accompanied by a parent, groups of 5 or more should contact YerbaBio ahead of time. For more info, email volunteer@yerbabio.org or visit www.yerbabio.org.

Join the Weed Warriors at San Bruno Mountain
Volunteer to save critical grasslands at San Bruno Mountain Park. Join the Weed Warriors for fresh air and exercise and help them weed on the south slope of the mountain, which is home to large areas of grasslands that are critical to resident endangered butterflies. The focus is to remove invasive non-native plants. Workdays are on the 4th Friday and Saturday of the month. Learn more about what to bring and where to meet here. TLC Locals could use your help with clean-ups at Tunitas Creek Beach!

Summer is upon us and our beaches can take a hard hit, but volunteers often save the day. Help clean up our newest county park- Tunitas Creek Beach with TLC Locals. Sign up for one of the following volunteer days on Eventbrite.

Sunday November 18

As you can see, volunteers are needed for a variety of activities from trail maintenance and invasive plant removal to event registration and native plant cultivation. San Mateo County Parks Foundation is also seeking volunteers to help lead hikes. If you know and love a particular county park well, and would like to share that with a group of hikers, please contact Michele at Michele@SupportParks.org.
