Several Peninsula Police Departments Deploying Anti-DUI Operations This Weekend
Officials say they'll be deploying multiple teams on Saturday in certain areas.

Sheriff's officials announced Friday several anti-DUI efforts that will happen this weekend on the Peninsula.
According to Burlingame Police Sgt. Jim Ford, officers from Burlingame, Hillsborough, Belmont, San Bruno, and South San Francisco "...will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association’s ongoing traffic safety campaign."
Saturation patrols will be held on Saturday night beginning at 6 p.m., and last for about eight hours, according to Ford. Officers will target areas that have had high frequencies of DUI crashes or arrests in the past.

"The focus of the DUI enforcement operations will be in Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, and San Bruno," he said.
"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," he said in a news release. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
