The suspect allegedly bought some candy at the El Camino Valero and then drew a knife on the attendant.
A San Francisco man pleaded not guilty to felony charges in connection with a gas station robbery in San Bruno early Tuesday morning, San Mateo County prosecutors said.
Christian Weinman, 26, entered a not guilty plea Wednesday before Commissioner Susan Jakubowski, prosecutors said.
Weinman allegedly bought some candy at the El Camino Valero at 800 El Camino Real at about 3:20 a.m. and then drew a knife on the station’s attendant, according to prosecutors.

He then told the attendant to give him all the cash in the cash drawer, according to prosecutors. But the attendant slammed the cash register shut and called 911.
Prosecutors said Weinman told police “I made a mistake, am I in trouble?” after they arrested him at a gas station across the street. Weinman told police he was low on cash, prosecutors said.

Police found the knife Weinman allegedly used and the station attendant identified him as the person responsible for the attempted robbery, prosecutors said.
The station’s video surveillance captured the incident, according to prosecutors.
Weinman will appear in court again Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. for a preliminary hearing, prosecutors said.
He remains in custody on $75,000 bail, according to prosecutors.
