Students Win Back-to-School Shopping Spree at San Bruno Target

The event, organized in partnership with the Salvation Army, was designed to make the back-to-school shopping season easier for families in the area.

Just in time for , a number of students throughout San Mateo County will be offered a school supply shopping spree at Target on Tuesday. 

The opportunity will be granted to 24 local students as part of a partnership project between the Salvation Army and Target that is intended to make the back-to-school season easier for families in the area.

In all, 92 children from San Mateo and San Francisco counties, selected by the Salvation Army, will be awarded an $80 gift card to help them gear up for the upcoming school year at several local stores.

The event taking place at the , as well as the other locations, is part of an ongoing effort by the retail giant to donate $1 billion in supplies to students across the country by 2015.

Volunteer chaperones will accompany the lucky selected students to guide their shopping spree.
