Learn Silicon Valley Education Foundation – Elevate (Math) funded in part by a generous grant from the Danford Foundation, is a 75-hour summer intervention program designed to elevate student achievement in math. One of the best indicators of high school and college success, math is often the toughest academic challenge that our students face. Elevate focuses on building both math skills and student confidence. Teachers receive over 35 hours of professional development and coaching. SBPSD rising 6th-8th graders are being invited to participate on the recommendation of their teachers. Assistant Superintendent Valerie Rogers is the administrator in charge: vrogers@sbpsd.k12.ca.us

ESY (Extended Summer School) for our students with special needs will be offered June 18-July 13, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Assistant Superintendent Leigh Schwartz is the administrator in charge: lschwartz@sbpsd.k12.ca.us

Summer Reading Counts is sponsored by San Bruno Education Foundation at Rollingwood School, Tuesdays and Thursdays June 19-August 16. Reading Counts engages students by allowing them to generate reading lists based on their Lexile level and personal reading interests. After reading a book, a student takes a computer-generated comprehension quiz to assess the student’s understanding. SRC! asks the student for feedback on the book he/she has read and helps the student to set achievable reading goals. Instantly-generated reports provide teachers and parents with valuable information about students’ reading progress and help match students to the right level of reading challenge. The reports also reveal when a student is struggling and needs intervention, an important part of adequate yearly progress (AYP) requirements.
