Suspicious Package at SFO Harmless, Bomb Squad Says

A bomb-sniffing dog alerted authorities to a package which was later found to be nonhazardous.

A bomb-sniffing dog on patrol at San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday night alerted airport officials to a potentially dangerous package that was later determined to be safe.

At about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, the bomb-sniffing dog hit on an outgoing package, police said.

An explosive ordnance disposal team responded to the scene and determined there to be no merit to an explosive device and deemed the package harmless, according to police.
