Dear Sustainability Champion,
With summer upon us, we are once again reminded of the effects of climate change with the magnitude and number of current CA wildfires, right here in our backyard. At the same time, Japan has been experiencing historic flooding, the worst since over 35 yrs! These events remind us that climate change, SSMC's key indicator for 2018, is here to stay and needs to be addressed boldly and in an integrated manner. We all can and must do our part in contributing to the solution. What are you committing to, this summer? Whether it is starting a carpool with neighbors or work colleagues, installing solar panels, changing your diet to eat less meat, or something else that makes a real impact... please share your actions with us! Whether at the individual level or at the organizational level (businesses, local governments, etc.) - send us your story (pictures, stats, etc. welcome) at: advocate@sustainablesanmateo.org with the subject line "SSMCActs_ClimateChange". We'll share the results with you!
