Woman Dies Two Days After San Bruno Hit-and-Run, Police Seek Leads

Police say they are reviewing surveillance images from the scene of the now-deadly crash. [BREAKING]

SAN BRUNO, CA – A 29-year-old pedestrian struck Monday evening while she was crossing a street in San Bruno has died of her injuries, police report. Meanwhile, police are still searching for the driver who fled the scene following the wreck.

The fatal crash was reported at 5:33 p.m. Monday at the intersection of San Bruno and Cherry avenues. The unidentified 29-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to the hospital, where she died on Wednesday, according to San Bruno Police Det. Sgt. Scott Luciano.

Right now, police believe the vehicle was a white mid-sized SUV.

"Investigators are currently following up on several investigative leads, including video surveillance footage from the area," Luciano said in a news release. "We are aware that several other vehicles were present in the intersection at the time the collision occurred and investigators are in the process of identifying and contacting these drivers and witnesses."

The woman's identity has not yet been released, as investigators are still working to contact her next of kin as of Friday, the San Francisco Medical Examiner's office told Patch.
