San Leandro has been investing heavily in getting businesses online. Starting in 2015 with the launch of its fiber optic network, and with its free wifi to public areas in 2018, San Leandro has been bringing faster internet throughout the city as part of its Fiber Optics Master Plan. The partnership with Common is the next step in this strategy.

“High-speed internet is transformative,” said Tony Batalla, Chief Technology Officer, City of San Leandro. “The City’s investments in broadband instructure have driven economic development – connecting businesses, creating jobs, and driving smart city innovations, such as free public Wifi in public spaces and parks. Now with Common, residents in San Leandro will have a new choice for affordable high-speed internet directly in their homes.”
